Days 36 and 37: Stroud, England

We have spent the past couple of days walking around Stroud and visiting some nearby towns. There are loads of vegan restaurants with delicious food and we have had vegan fish and chips, wood-fired pizza and sourdough bread, Indian food, and Thai food (the best I have ever had). The Thai dish I had was crispy eggplant squares with a tamarind and Thai basil sauce.
We attended a party last night thrown by some locals who were born in South Africa. The kids met some other teenagers and had fun chatting.
We visited the IKEA in Bristol. We watched England play in the World Cup at a pub. We went to the Stroud Saturday Market and enjoyed walking around there. We played Texas Hold ‘Em at the House. We went on pretty walks along the canal and river in town.
The kids walked to meet one of the boys from the Waldorf School. They walked to the commons together and watched the sunset and flew the the drone. In Gloucester, we visited the Abbey briefly after dinner and got a few pictures.
The weather has been unseasonably awesome. The people are nice here. The downtown is great for walking around.
