Day 39: Gloucester, England

We walked up one of the many public footpaths in the area to through the woods to Beacon Hill today. It is a great scenic overlook and is an excellent place for flying the drone. We ate some lunch and the boys flew the drone. They let Jacob fly it, too. Paragliders were drifting around kind of nearby. It looked really fun.
From Beacon Hill we went to Gloucester again. We visited Gloucester Cathedral. Harry Potter films 1, 2 and 6 were partially filmed there. The Sherlock episode about the ghost bride was partly filmed in the crypt. The Dr. Who Christmas episode, where David Tennet becomes the next Doctor, was filmed there, too. Lots of other films and shows have also used the exterior and interior of the cathedral. The cathedral was so beautiful.
We passed by a Beatrix Potter store in Gloucester. We missed going in because it had closed. That was a bummer. Apparently Beatrix Potter lived and wrote in Gloucester. The store is located very close to where the tailor was supposed to live in the story Potter wrote, The Tailor of Gloucester.

We went back to Stroud and stayed at my cousin’s friend’s house because they were out of town. We had dinner, walked on some of the public lands around the house, and played Articulate! Articulate! is a British board game.
