Day 26: Trim, Brú na Bóinne, and Dublin, Ireland

We loaded up the rental car and left our great lodgings in County Clare. We visited Trim Castle. It was heavily featured in Braveheart. You could see the Hill of Tara from the top. Then, we went to see the 5000 year old tombs of Newgrange and Knowth. The carvings and tombs themselves were so fabulous. The black and white picture is what Newgrange looked like in the 1950’s before restoration. We dropped off the rental car at the Dublin Airport and caught the city bus to Dublin.
We met up with our friends from Florida and checked into our hostel. We watched England vs. Columbia at a pub. Then, we found vegan donuts! We listened to Irish music at a bar in Temple Bar until Ezi and Jack wandered too close to the front door and had to leave for being underaged.

    1. They have a lottery to go st the Winter Solstice. You should do that! Also, be sure to visit Knowth!

    2. Yes I know about the lottery but it is such a long shot. They pick 60 people and in 2017 they had over 32,000 entries and then your not even guaranteed to see anything, it could be raining. But maybe I will try at some point
