Heading from home to the Orlando International Airport. We saw a rainbow on the way to the airport, so that was great.
Honestly, I am super excited about the trip, but also nervous. I have never been to Europe and only out of the country a few times. I’ll definitely have much more experience when I get back. Our itinerary with all the flight, train, and hotel numbers, activities, etc. is 15 pages long. Also, I have never blogged before. I am doing it from my phone. So far, it is mostly working. I am sure there will be lots of typos, which will probably not ever get fixed.
For the first time ever, we forgot to fill up the rental car with gas. We decided to do that just before the rental car was checked in at the return area. We just should have paid to have the car company to fill it. Deciding to get gas ourselves this late in the game was a large mistake that required leaving the rental car return area. This was followed by a series of unfortunate events: getting lost under the airport, exiting a toll road without having the change to pay the toll and no options for paying it another way, me crying out of frustration about all the ways we could easily avoided the large fine that will surely happen from skipping out of the toll, but didn’t, and eventually getting back to the rental car return area. Damn you, first-world problems!
From there things were okay and uneventful. They didn’t weigh or size check out bags. We were good weight and size wise anyway. That had been a pretty big concern of mine, but things went smoothly there.
If you are jealous of the sweet pants I have on in the picture, prepare to be even more envious. They do unzip at the knee to become shorts. Yep.
We are flying Norwegian Air. It leaves MCO at 11:05pm. The plane is nice, new, and big. It is a Dreamliner 787-9. Free in-flight entertainment even with our cheap-o seats, although I really hope we can all sleep. There are usb charging ports, too. I couldn’t get mine to work, so? It is the nicest plane I have ever ridden on. It was a little dirty, though.
Slept basically not at all, but...
Next stop- Oslo, Norway! Arriving 1:45pm Norway time. The blog will get more exciting...
Im so thrilled for you. It sounds like its going to be a very exciting trip!
