Day 5: Höör, Sweden

We made it safely to Höör, Sweden. It is pronounced close to “her”, as we were informed by a slightly patronizing, offended, and simultaneously amused Swede on the train into town who didn’t really like the way we had been pronouncing it prior to his intervention.
Our friends had a hot midnight meal waiting for us. We got to sleep in and had a hot breakfast before heading to their kids’ last day of school performance. They go to a local Waldorf school, which I believe is free.
The rest of the day was spent eating and exploring Höör by bicycle. Their property backs up to a great public wooded area with walking and mountain bike trails. There is a skatepark in town, two parkour parks and several playgrounds. We had ice cream/sorbet from Hardy’s. They had a well-marked allergens list for all the ice cream, which made ordering vegan food much easier. Heidi and I went to City Gross, which translates to Big City, for groceries. We had a good laugh anyway.

    1. So far so good. Today we head north and will possibly be staying in tents. Lows will get into the 30s. The friends who live here packed long underwear and winter hats. Brrr!!!

  4. I swear. If they didn't want the town name mispronounced they should have named it something that wasn't funny
