Today we woke up early and had to finish packing and leave the little house at Martin’s parents. We had a 9am train from the Rättvik station. This meant our awesome and accommodating friends also had to wake up early and get their car packed so they could take us and our packs to the station in time to catch our train. Martin’s parents woke up to see us all off.
On the drive we saw a rainbow and I was able to get some picturesque pictures.
We made it to the station on time and said a temporary goodbye to our friends. They will drive home and we will rendezvous at their house this afternoon.
The first train we boarded had no internet. We were on it for nearly 5 hours. Edon played Minecraft, but Ezi was quite bored.
Once we get to their house in Höör we will do laundry, shower, and get ready for our next adventure- Ireland! With luck, we will see Copenhagen in the morning before our flight to Dublin.
On a different note, all of the research I did on packing has actually paid off. We have pretty much used everything we packed-including items I didn’t think we would use, but were recommended, like a needle and thread. I am so grateful I finally bought myself a pair of hiking boots. I got synthetic, waterproof ones and they have been awesome. I didn’t bring a sleeping mask or a reusable water bottle. I borrowed a sleeping mask and we ended up buying souvenir water bottles on clearance at a museum. It has all worked out, but I will pack those things in the future. Our $30 packs from Walmart are surprisingly excellent and fit as carryons. Everyday the folding day packs get good use, too. The kids have definitely taken advantage of the fact we brought the Mavic and have carried it the entire time themselves.
Never thought of packing a needle and thread! This trip sounds so fun!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was suggested and I just decided to pack it just in case. My friend’s daughter needed it twice for her pants!
