Giant’s Causeway and Ballintoy
I can’t remember the last time I slept so soundly.
Vanessa and Miles woke up early and spent 3 hours down at Ballintoy Harbour while the rest of us slept.
I woke up before Edon and Kyle and got breakfast - oatmeal and potatoes.
Vanessa and Miles came back and we decided today would be a good day for Giant’s Causeway. We wanted to make sure we visited Giant’s Causeway at least once, but hopefully more.
While Edon got breakfast, the rest of us went on a walk to check out the Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge. The walk over to the spot was so picturesque. We decided to save the rope bridge for another day, but really enjoyed the walk.
We collected Edon and drove to Giant’s Causeway. There was a small parking lot where we parked for people who didn’t want the entire Visitor Centre experience and the entrance fee that goes along with it.
Giant’s Causeway was smaller than I had imagined. It was still absolutely phenomenal. I had wanted to go to Giant’s Causeway since studying it with Edon and Ezi years ago during our Geology block. Vanessa and I wished Alex and Ezi were with us.
Back at the house, everyone ate and relaxed. After dinner, Edon and Kyle decided to stay home and watch YouTube while Miles, Vanessa, and I tried to walk to White Park Bay. It was just after 20:00.
We walked through the town and down to the Harbour. From there we found the Ulster Way/Causeway Coast Way and took it toward White Park Bay. The walk was so gorgeous with rocks to climb, baby ocean ducks, tons of rabbits, wildflowers, and more. The tide was too high to get around the final rock outcrop to the actual beach at White Park Bay. We headed back, exhausted again. It was just about 22:30. I had walked over 9 miles that day. Vanessa and Miles even more. Everyone took showers and eventually made it to bed. I worked on Day 2 of the blog until after midnight when I had to stop because I kept falling asleep.
Very purdy!
